Jesus Teachings [G]

(G 1)……..Twelve (12) APOSTLES   CHOSEN

Luke 6:12 Now it came to pass in those days, that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Luke 6:13 And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles:

Luke 6:14 Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew;

Luke 6:15 Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zelotes;

Luke 6:16 and Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.

(G 2)…..MANY   TEACHINGS   ON   THE  MOUNTAIN

Mat 5:1 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him.

Mat 5:2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:

The Beatitudes

Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.

Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.

Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

Mat 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

Matthew 5:10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:11 "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

Matthew 5:12 "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Salt and Light

Matthew 5:13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then

good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Matthew 5:15 "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Teaching About the Law

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

Matthew 5:18 "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Matthew 5:19 "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:20 "For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and

Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Sin Begins in the Heart

Matthew 5:27You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.'

Matthew 5:28"But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Oaths

Matthew 5:33 "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.'

Matthew 5:34 "But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne;

Matthew 5:35 "nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

Matthew 5:36 "Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.

Matthew 5:37 "But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

Retaliation

Matthew 5:41 "And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

Matthew 5:42 "Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.

Enemies

Matthew  5:43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'

Matthew 5:44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

The Proper Manner of Almsgiving

Matthew 6:2 "Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

Matthew 6:3 "But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

Matthew 6:4 "that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Prayer

Matthew 6:7 "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

Matthew 6:9 "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

Matthew 6:13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Matthew 6:14 "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Matthew 6:15 "But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Treasures In Heaven

Matthew 6:19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;

Matthew 6:20 "but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Put God’s Kingdom First

Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew  6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Judging Others

Matthew 7:1 "Judge not, that you be not judged.

Matthew 7:2 "For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Matthew 7:3"And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

Matthew 7:4 "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye?

Matthew 7:5"Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Seeking God’s Help

Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:8 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Matthew 7:9 "Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

Matthew 7:10 "Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?

Matthew 7:11"If you then, being evil, know  how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Behavior and Belief

Matthew 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

Matthew 7:16 "You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles?

Matthew 7:17 "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

Matthew 7:18 "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

Matthew 7:19 "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Matthew 7:20 "Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

I Never Knew You

Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'

Matthew 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Build on a Firm Foundation

Matthew 7:24 "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

Matthew 7:25 "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

Matthew 7:26 "But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:

Matthew 7:27  "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."

Matthew 7:28 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the  people were astonished at His teaching,

Matthew 7:29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Matthew 8:1 When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.

(G 3)…….JOHN   THE   BAPTIST   QUESTIONS   JESUS

Luke 7:18 Then the disciples of John reported to him concerning all these things.

Luke 7:19 And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?"

Luke 7:20 When the men had come to Him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, 'Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?'"

Luke 7:21 And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight.

Luke 7:22 Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Luke 7:23 "And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me."

Luke 7:24 When the messengers of John had departed, He began to speak to the multitudes concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

Luke 7:25 "But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed those who are gorgeously appareled and live in luxury are in kings' courts.

Luke 7:26 "But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.

Luke 7:27 "This is he of whom it is written: 'Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.'

Luke 7:28 "For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the

Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

Luke 7:29 And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John.

Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.

(G 4)………JESUS  PREACHING AND  HEALING

Luke 8:1 Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the

glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him,

Luke 8:2 and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities; Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons,

Luke 8:3 and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.

(G 5)……GREAT   STORM   TO   GREAT   CALM

Mark 4:1 And again He began to teach by the sea. And a great multitude was gathered to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat in it on the sea; and the whole multitude was on the land facing the sea.

Mark 4:2 Then He taught them many things by parables, and said to them in His teaching:

Jesus Calms a Storm

Mark 4:35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side."

Mark 4:36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.

Mark 4:37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.

Mark 4:38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"

Mark 4:39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Mark 4:40 But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?"

Mark 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"

Mark 5:1 Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes.

Mark 5:2 And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
